Police are investigating Winnipeg’s 14th homicide of 2020 after being called to a home in the city’s Daniel McIntyre neighbourhood Friday.
Homicide investigators were still at the scene in the 700 block of Victor Street late into the evening, several hours after receiving a report of an injured male at 12:42 p.m.
Police cruisers were stationed at the front and rear of the two-storey home late Friday night. Behind police tape, children’s toys were scattered across the front yard and what appeared to be a blood stain was visible on the front steps.
Police had few details to share, saying it was an active investigation and they would continue holding the scene overnight.
A police spokesperson could not reveal man’s age, the cause of death, or whether they had a suspect in custody, but said the public is not at risk.
