Saskatoon man facing impaired driving charges after crash injures passenger
A 27-year-old Saskatoon man is facing multiple charges, including impaired driving causing bodily harm, after a crash injured his 15-year-old passenger.
Saskatoon police responded to an erratic driver at around 8 a.m. CST Saturday morning near Gordie Howe Campground. The vehicle hit a perimeter fence, then crashed through the gates at the campground, which deployed the air bags and stopped the vehicle.
The man fled the car on foot. The 15-year-old passenger had minor injuries to her face and was taken to hospital. A police dog found the driver near the Holiday Park Golf Course a short time later and he was taken into custody.
The man is facing charges of impaired driving causing bodily harm, refusal, assault and mischief.
