Puslinch man charged for allegedly impersonating police

A 25-year-old man from Puslinch Township has been charged with impersonating a peace officer, Ontario Provincial Police say.

OPP say a family was riding bikes near Watson Rd. S and Stone Rd. in Puslinch Township at around 1:00 p.m. on April 17. They told police a black SUV with flashing lights pulled up behind the family, and the complainant said he heard the driver yell at them over a loudspeaker system.

The complainant said he believed the driver was a police officer in a police vehicle.

Following an investigation, police arrested a 25-year-old male Wednesday at approximately 4:40 p.m.

He has been charged with impersonating a peace officer and is expected to appear in court July 31, 2020.
