McDonald’s closes north-end restaurant after employee tests positive for COVID-19

A McDonald’s in north London has been closed for cleaning after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.

The case was reported on Saturday at the company’s restaurant at 1205 Fanshawe Park Rd. W, just east of Hyde Park Rd., according to McDonald’s Canada.

“Out of an abundance of caution, McDonald’s Canada made the decision to immediately shut down the restaurant for a thorough cleaning and sanitation,” the company said in a written statement.

The employee last worked at the outlet from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Friday, April 17, McDonald’s said.

All workers at the restaurant who may have been in close contact with the employee have been asked to self-quarantine, according to the statement.

The outlet will re-open after it receives clearance from local health authorities, McDonalds said.

The company will continue to work with local health authorities to support its employees and guests, the statement added.
