Family ‘extremely concerned’ for pregnant woman who went missing en route to Vancouver

Police are searching for a pregnant Nanaimo woman who went missing this week while travelling to Vancouver for medical treatment.

Ashley Virtue, 25, was reported missing to Nanaimo RCMP on Wednesday after she didn’t arrive in Vancouver as planned. According to RCMP, she requires daily medication.

“Her family is extremely worried for her safety and well-being,” RCMP Const. Gary O’Brien said in a news release.

Virtue’s cellphone has been traced to Vancouver, but no one has been able to find her there, police say.

She is described as a white woman, standing five feet five inches tall and weighing 120 pounds.

Anyone with information about Virtue’s whereabouts is asked to call Nanaimo RCMP at 250-754-2345.
