Check out this hilarious rendition of ‘I Will Survive’ by an elementary school principal

An elementary school principal is delighting audiences with his rendition of Gloria Gaynor’s I Will Survive, but with the words tailored to the trials and tribulations of online teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Andy Orr is the principal at Harrisfield Public School in Ingersoll, Ont.

“I really wanted to do something to connect musically to our school community,” Orr said.

Orr also leads the school choir and wants his six-year-old son to love music as he does.

“After we shared it with our school, it got a lot of traction. Our secretary knew that our kids would love it.”

News of the song spread, to people in Southampton, where Orr plays summer gig at a microbrewery, to friends in Sauble Beach, where he has a trailer, and to teachers and principals at other school boards. Orr also shared the video on Twitter.

“This is something positive to happen during this pandemic. I think there have been a lot of silver linings and there will be many more,” Orr said.
