1 dead after motorcycle crash in southeast Calgary

Calgary police say a man in his 50s has died after a collision in southeast Calgary last night.

The crash took place around 6 p.m. in the 3000 block of 114th Avenue S.E., police said. Only the motorcycle was involved.

As of Sunday morning, police couldn’t provide any additional information as to the circumstances that led to the crash. 

Later that night, a second collision took place around 10:52 p.m. involving two vehicles at 162nd Avenue and James McKevitt Road S.W.

Police said alcohol is believed to be a factor in one driver involved in the crash. The other driver was transported to hospital in serious, life-threatening condition. 

There was no update on that individual’s condition as of Sunday morning.
